<A Torch to illuminate the darkness>           After entering the basement, you need to turn on some lights so you can see what it contains. Similarly, we need to shed some light on the contents of our inner storeroom so that we may see what it holds. The Innerself development process uses a book called the Lotus Sutra to illuminate our mind and the internal subconscious storeroom that is part of it. The Lotus Sutra is used particularly for this purpose because of the unique way it functions.
